Update... The 59 Greenie is gone
I have passed this tool on to one of my daughters and her husband. SHMBO is pleased to have it out of the house, but she did ask me when I would look for another to work on. Other children and family have expressed an interest.
I did give my son in law the web address and such for the forum but I don't know if he will look into it or knot.

I'm in now too . . .
Well found this site and noted similier issues with other 1955 Greenies. Mine is my Grandfathers, Nov. 1955, #308679, and when I went to replace the main drive belt when it broke, the motor no longer worked. Just hum's a bit. So there it sits...

tHIS IS EASY TO DO(CAUSE) IF THE HIGH SPEED LIMIT ADJUSTMENT IS OFF!etc92guy wrote:.......or if by main drive belt it's the belt between the motor and the upper sheaves, the belt could be wedged down on the shaft. Yep, I'll admit it, I did that once......Can you rotate anything by hand with the power off? Should turn pretty easy with a sanding disk on the the quill.
