Just curious and a newbie to lathe myself. Does the "wax" need to be reapplied during the turning. Or once you put it on that is all?

Our local High School offers "adult ed classes" in many subjects, one of which is woodworking. I did a course with my son-in-law at which we built a corner cabinet and some childrens benches. We could have worked with a lathe as well with the help of the teacher but I haven't tried that aspect of the Shopsmith yet.

Beeswax will hold up through the whole turning, and you will still have some left on the dead center when you are through. At least that's been my experience!
