Your OTHER hobbies

I am a dedicated sportsman - hunting, fishing, fly tying, boating and camping. Most of my wood working revolves around those hobbies.
With the time I spend hunting and fishing, my lawn often looks like the house is abandoned! Alec

My other hobby? I like to spend time with my family, and one thing that has brought us all together for loads of fun is dirt bike riding. We have acreage, so the family stores their bikes at my place and come over to "practice". Several times each year, we all go to various places (Little Naches, Tahuyah State forest, etc.), to ride on many miles of maintained trail systems. It is great fun for all ages.

Besides WW'ing, stamp collecting and a few coins, computers, N guage RR-has been on hold for a while,will revive for grandchildren, have done a couple of paintings-may do more of that in future, gardening and flowers, photography, family's geneology, RVing and travel-not much in last 2 years.

I'm a lot like easterngray, I spend as much time as I can Hunting and Fishing thru the western US. Also I have two Brittany bird dogs to train, and have just spent the last 4 yrs remodeling my home.

I tend to be a hobbyholic.
One of the more active ones I am working with this week. That is old tractors. We are displaying and camping at the Portland Indiana show. I have over a dozen old tractors ranging from restored to basket cases.
I do a little writing and based on how much money I have made from it I almost have to call it a hobby.
We support a few "lap horses".
I have spent a zillion hours doing genealogy research over a dozen years.
My grown son and I are sloooowly restoring a 1965 Mustang (289, 4 speed, Rally pak, suspension package that my mother bought new when she started teaching.
I do a little shooting, also have a few front stuffers (nothing fancy).
I have an old 4 cylinder super sport rice burner that we want to replace with something like a Goldwing for some longer rood trips soon.
I like to pretend that I am going to half keep up with computer stuff and I am often puttering with about 6 or 7 old systems. Several running different distributions of Linux, one iMac and several windows boxes.
I used to do some metal fabrication work for $$$ and still enjoy doing it for myself.
I was a shoe cobbler for over 20 years and I enjoyed the work. My woodshop shares one corner with my western boot rebuilding shop which is still in the set-up stage. No rush...
I'm converting part of my farm for use by local boy scouts. Lots of tree planting etc.
We have 4 grown kids, a dozen grandkids and 11 great grandkids. I work very hard at trying to constantly embarrass any of them I can.
We take off on "Sunday drives" any day of the week at the drop of a hat. We used to eat out very rarely but now we probably eat out more than we eat at home.

I have been most of my life into electronics, ham radio and in the last 25 years computers as well.

Having one 7 years old son, another hobby is to keep him entertained (constructing anything, riding bikes, etc.) and away from TV and video games. Not an easy one, I tell you.

My primary passion is HO model railroading and the Saint Louis and San Francisco Railroad. I've run a historical website (www.frisco.org) for 19 years and do non-profit work for the Texas Western Railway Association.

You can also find me fly fishing, playing golf, and working in the yard.
