How does the Retaining strap work?

I like to use some clear silicone when I'm when I put glass in doors. I put the silicone down then the glass then I nail down my strip with a micro gun.Some silicone will come out the front
But that's ok once it dries it cut off clean. It prevents any rattle and its cheap and easy.

Hi Navy! Here's hoping this discussion answered some of your curiosity. As for me - I'm just going to stick with glass held by quarter round wood strips.

I'll drill pilot holes through the quarter round prior to nailing them in place. This avoids hitting the glass with the nail also avoids splitting the wood.
Octogenarian's have an earned right to be a curmudgeon.

The picture illistrations were great. I just couldn't visualize it from the Rockler website..
