When viewing single posts......
In case you're not aware, I wanted to show you a forum feature that can be helpful when viewing a single post.
You know how when you click on a hyperlink that goes out to a single post, like if you click here, there's times when you may be interested in reading more of the posts either before or after the one the hyperlink brought you to. Notice it brought you out to post #88.
Here's an easy way to view more of that thread without having to go out and find the thread your reading. When you are at the single post, it will say that in the upper left corner. Notice directly above the post # on the right that the name of the thread is shown. To go to that thread, just click on it and your at the entire thread so that you can continue reading.
Hope this helps for those that did not know OR needed a reminder.
And p.s. - - - -If you clicked on the link above and got to the thread
"What the significance of your forum name" yet you haven't posted to that yet, please do. It's enjoyable reading to see how you came up with your forum name.

Could you please tell me how to view just a single post and tell me why I might want to do that.

Re-read my original post #1. If you click on the words that are underlined which says "click here', that is a hyperlink and it takes you out to a single post in a different thread.
Your second question of "why" you might want to do that......because you can..
Seriously, if you've never clicked on a link that brings you out to some other thread, as will happen when to click on the link in post #1, you may never need the technique. I do it all the time however. I get out to another thread, find it interesting and want to read more than the single post the hyperlink brought me to, so I just click on the thread name above the post # and voila.....I'm now in that thread.
Not knowing your level of lingo (i.e threads, posts, hyperlinks etc.) if my message above still isn't clear, don't hesitate to say so and I'll explain differently. I don't want you to get lost in the lingo if that's an issue.

If someone links to a specific previous post - one that contains an already posted excellent answer to a newly asked question for example - the forum software shows ONLY that post. You have to click on the thread title, as MickyD explained, to view other posts in that thread.BigSky wrote:Could you please tell me how to view just a single post and tell me why I might want to do that.
Why does the forum software do that? I dunno. Other forum software will let you link to a specific post but will go to the thread but with the "focus" on that specific post. So you can scroll up to read previous posts and down to read subsequent posts.

All you have to do is click on the post number, on the right side. The reason ya may do this is to point someone to an answer. Then they do knot have to look around for it, or find the post number you pointed them to.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders, molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

This is an addition comment to my previous post.
Now I can print out for record some of those significant posts that some of you make without printing the entire thread.
You got it BigSky. That's an excellent example of why you would want to be able to go to a single post!! Good input.

Highlight / Select with your mouse what you want to print, then in your print box select the option to "Print Selected".
