Wow, I like it. Show me the bottom. We turned one at the TA a couple of years ago. I thought what fun, and bought the oneway stronghold chuck and a bunch of other stuff for turning, but have never done it, yet. Would really like to start doing it, but I remember very little about the setup.

From the TA Class over a year ago, I can sorta come up with a picture in by head. I seem to remember drilling a hole in the block that would eventually become the bowl opening. We then inserted a threaded whatever into the oneway, then spun the block on that into the hole that was just drilled. If I remember correctly, we are now turning the outside and bottom of the bowl. On the bottom, we cutout the area you show that the jaws expand against, or create one in the center that the jaws would close over. Then remove turned outside bowl and threaded insert and fasten to jaws and turn inside of bowl. (I think).
I think you have a great idea, search youtube for videos. I think turning some bowls, would be a lot of fun.
