Good suggestion! The jointer was set there to see if it would fit. I had just completed putting it together. Hopefully its use as a storage device is temporary. I intend to make a power station/sanding station out of it eventually(post power pro???). I was thinking of the 'upper' center area for either the 6"belt sander or the bandsaw. I have not looked at this enough to see IF any of it will fit. My 'shop' is in a bit of a turmoil since I am redoing my storage cabinet and EVERYTHING is scattered all about. Add to that the spt's I am refurbing for possible sale(more pieces scattered about).

Most of the time the jointer is stored on the end of the goldie(it is rarely removed).

Got to make room for the 510 I am refurbing!

The tailstock would be more stable if mounted on that end.

Interesting thought. Is there a reason why one can not / should not turn at that end?

It's a bear to mount the tool rest?

I actually know someone who uses this set up for sanding things to shape... 'no reason to use sharp tools for stock removal when sandpaper will work'....

Could become a 2 person work station - one turning, one finishing with sand paper! HEY mike that is how you get LOML hooked(we already know she 'sands')!:D

Boy, where were all you guys when I was a teenager facing all those big life decisions. I probably wouldn't have had to wait until I was 35 to get married for the first time!! I would have known much sooner how to hook 'em for good vs. play catch and release.
