I keep wondering when someone posting on both forums will blow this contest out of the water by stuffing the membership list on the other forum. Sorry devious minds just have to post such questions.mickyd wrote:Membership at the yahoo group had been stagnant since 10/28 at 5128 members. Our site is continuing with +3 members per day with todays count at 5115.
Somewhere between 11-06 and 11-08 appears to be takeover day.
We are getting closer and closer

Have you ever looked at the Members list here? A lot of people have not been active since the day signed up back in 2006. I wonder how many are lurking in the background just soaking up all this information?

I hope that there are many that are lurking. But I also wish that they would "come out of the wood shed" and join the group in conversation. It is certain that they have valuable ideas to offer.
Incidentally, many times there are more guests than there are active members.

Yep. We certainly are. I think that we will probably crossover today (Nov 3, 2009). I don't know why I think that but I do. Just a gut hunch.

I agree completely and that is why I get really annoyed at guys doing like the ones on the Mill Creek site did spewing a lot of snobbish garbage in one thread putting down others that do not have good writing skills.
On the email lists that I own I will not tolerate that. The very last thing I want is someone with great input holding back out of fear of their writing skills being judged. I went so far as to ban one member who would not quit "grading" other members messages. It is one thing for those of us who post a lot to "poke each other with a stick" with good humor over an obvious typo and quite another to just put folks down over a lack of skill. Those who do so usually lack skill too, people skill...
Some of the best knowledge comes from folks who's best skills lie in areas other than writing.
Any fool can write... I do it all of the time.

I am big enough that you could count me twice if that will help.
