They ALL have antennas - only the newer ones are 'internal'. Higher Frequency allows them to be smaller.

What spelling? I wood knot cedar mistakes if I looked!:D Although, when given the opportunity, I may make fun of it, but only in fun!

A few years ago (~12), I was visiting my brother in the big city of Windsor, Vermont. I used his phone, a cheap push button corded one, to call back to Alaska. When I punched in the number I heard the old rotary dial pulses! I looked on the side of the phone & sure enough it was set to pulse, so I told Don, "Hey, you know if you set this to tone it will dial through much faster?" He replied, "No, it won't work." We argued a bit, then he said, "Steve, you don't understand, WINDSOR does NOT have tone dialing!"

And I thought I lived in a remote place!

There is a small Louisiana community not far from here that only got phone service 3 years ago!

A buddy of mine back in high school (18 years ago) lived in a community that only had a party line. They used distinctive ring patterns to indicate which house a call was for and everybody could listen in on each other's calls.
