Craigslist score. Strip sander, Jig saw

Craigslist score. Strip sander, Jig saw

Hello

After being too late to get anything on Craig's list I scored this 1988 year Strip sander and Jig saw from 19??. $50 for the pair:D

The strip sander is missing a few parts. I need the 3 platens. Kinda surprised the curved one is $25:( from Shopsmith. Has anyone seen a parts sale lately?
They use to run the parts on sale all the time. It is also missing the small wheel just below the large upper wheel.

I do have some questions I will post separate so they can be found easy by others in the future.

Congratulations! I was 'looking'at that also, but the listing said 'Williamsburg' which is down near TN.

The tapped hole for the 'pulley' position above the top of the belt is there so you can move the one in the rear to allow the 'inside' sanding function.

The belt is then run over the top pulley, around the front of the idler(now mounted at the top) straight down and around and under the lower idler and back to the drive wheel, around to the front of that and back up to the top pulley. I have seen the platens on e-bay once during the past year. Unfortunately they are easily separated from the rest of the sander.

Thanks for the info. The more research I did I was thinking that I was not missing a wheel. I just had to move it.

The Jigsaw and Sander was located in Williamsburg Ohio. Just east of Cincinnati. The guys garage looked like a Shopsmith haven.
