Dave, while you're talking to them, if you do knot mind, try to find out where they were made; I am interested. Thanks!judaspre1982 wrote:I just purchased this Forsner bit set from Rockler http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=17283&filter=forsner%20bit%20set . I found out the hard way that it wasn't the deal I thought it was. I am making mini keychain lights for Xmas gifts and the blanks require a 13/16 hole drilled thru the middle of the blank. I used my new bit set for this task. Luckily I only drilled one blank and test fit the bushings to the hole. I found the hole to be too small. After checking the size of the bit, it was actully 3/4. It was marked on the bit 13/16. I checked all the bits for proper size and found one other bit not correct. The 5/16 bit was actually 9/32. I will call Rockler tomorrow to see what can be done. If anyone else bought this set ,they may want to check that the bit sizes are correct. -----Dave

For the occasional use by a hobbyist, lots of bits for price. You get what you pay for in this life, couldn't have expected them to be made anyplace else than China. Will suit my uses for now. So far have used them in pine, do not seem to expel chips like I thought they should and seem to run hot if pushed too much. Would rather have a plastic case, the cheap wood case they came in will keep them from rattling around and dinging the cutting edges. "

Purchased for a really good price! What does that tell you about the origin? It tells me - not made in the USA and probably not made in Europe!
I have a set of brad point bits purchased at Woodcraft for "that really good price" - not made in the USA. I get a few holes drilled with each bit and then they are too dull to use.
You get no more than you pay for.
