Regarding the TS-Aligner Jr, I checked my table saw this morning and right now the blade to miter slot is off by 1.5 thousands across the width of the blade. The fence is about .005 away from at the back of the table compared to the front, which is a good setting to avoid binding when ripping and the consequences thereof.
In setting the blade parallel to the slot, it should be possible to get perfect alignment, but it's quite difficult to achieve because of some shifting in the alignment when you tighten the the bolts that secure the table to the trunion or cabinet of the saw. The TS Aligner Jr enables you to know exactly how precise your setting are without guessing.
I've had the TS-Aligner Jr for about a dozen years and its been helpful in aligning or quickly checking alignment on quite a few tools. With it you can set the angle of the blade on the table saw or miter gauge, tram you drill press (it's a little awkward on the Mark V 510/520 because of the ridges in the table), check that bandsaw blades are perpendicular to the table, set jointer blades, etc. It works as advertised.
