?Has anyone attempted to make this tool shelf??? or have any prints??
Since it is made of wood, I would like to make one or two so I can hold all these attachments better.
Thanks

Nope, I have never seen a plan for one. However, all that it is is a thick piece of wood with several holes routed into it. It should not be hard to make.

In fact, you might actually get one whose various holes are all used for what is intended.

If you are going to do this - I suggest that you consider making one that would extend a bit further back under the headstock. You have to make sure that there is clearance for things like the lift assist (if you have one) and the vertical support tubes when the table is lowered but making this mod would give you a lot more storage.

I have one that came attached to my 510 when I purchased it several years ago. I have tried to use it but I find the shelf to be an annoyance.

1. My 510 has the castors but when I move it for table saw operation the items stored on the shelf fall off.
2. The items on the shelf vibrate off when in use. Especially when turning out of round stock on the lathe.
3. I am constantly hitting the thing with my shins.
4. Since the shelf sticks out it forces you stand further away from the tool during operation. I then find myself leaning forward toward the tool which is fatiguing.
5. And it is a big sawdust collector.

I saw the storage cabinet plans posted in another thread a few days past and thought I would make one in the future to replace the shelf. The shelf will find another home attached to the wall.

I had the same experience with my first 500 that came with the shelf. I was always hitting it with my legs. I ended up moving it to the back side of the legs on that machine. That worked for me but would not solve your other problems.

My original 520 has the OEM shelf from Shopsmith. It works well for most tool items. A couple of pre-designed spaces I have never figured out how to use thus have modified the shelf to meet my own preferences. That shelf's biggest drawback is the sawdust it collects. That part doesn't bother me as my shop vac picks it up easily.

The other 520 I decided to add one of those painted wire shelves. I took care to cut it long enough and and position it so most of the shelf is under the base. I find myself reaching under the unit farther than is comfortable for my aching joints. I doesn't collect sawdust but requires I move the Mark V in order to reach underneath for cleaning.

My favorite would be the OEM wood model as I have modified it. Perhaps tomorrow I can take pictures for clarity. Jim

I could never justify buying one, since I own a wood working machine.
I added a vinyl covered wire shelf intended for a closet last summer and it works well. I usually only keep my fence and push sticks on it. When disc sanding I often place the saw blade and upper guard on the shelf.
The advantage of this shelf is that it doesn't catch much saw dust, since it'mostly open.

Unusual logic. I could never justify buying one, since I own a wood working machine....so, I bought a wire shelf.

I thought you were going to report that you built your own.

The logic is fine!

The action taken makes sense.

What is 'missing':

1) The solidness of the item makes it impractical since it is a sawdust catcher.

2) That being the case, even though a woodworker myself, I choose to not make one for that reason.

3) Since having a place to temporarily place things is 'handy' I made one from a material that did NOT have problem 1.

The progression makes perfect 'sense'.(IMHO)

BUT I still have to have someplace else to store all them attachments(where catching debris is not possible).

Stainless - this is the unit that I built. Its main draw back is that it impedes when lowering the table. I have removed it when I needed to lower the table for horizontal routing/boring/sanding. Alec https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?t=3098
