Paint on Shopsmith plastic
Has anyone found a paint and color to use to paint plastic covers on Shopsmith equipment.(ie-Bandsaw, Stripsander) Will the SS touch-up paint work or will it damage plastic?
I use steel wool to remove any loose paint and rough up the surface. I found a clear plastic undercoat primer (same section with spray can paint) that I first use. I copy the logo print for that SPT on my copier. Then spray when it goes with the clear primer, then lay the logo sheet on the SPT where sprayed. Roll out any bubbles and spray the logo cover sheet with the clear primer. Then tape off the logo cover after the clear primer dries (I leave over night). It looks real good when done. Then I can use the Shopsmith touch-up paint or Rustoleum Hammered paint over this primer with excellant results.cincinnati wrote:Has anyone found a paint and color to use to paint plastic covers on Shopsmith equipment.(ie-Bandsaw, Stripsander) Will the SS touch-up paint work or will it damage plastic?
