I was never sure what a Hokie was, but it was funny to watch Cav Man chase the long necked Gobbler around Scott Stadium. Willsdorf Hall is very nice. I spent most of my time next door in the MechE building.

OK, Christmas was good to me with and new bowl gouge and and new hollowing tool. Going to sharpen them and put them to use tomorrow. Question is does anyone have a good site to look up old woodworking books to purchase. Or even good used books not old. Have several but looking for some good prices so if the books get messed up out in the shop I have not ruined a 30 or 40 dollar book.
Hope all of you were good boys and Girls and got new toys to make some sawdust.

My kids got me a gift card for Home Depot. I was going to use it for a dado blade. My question is: Will the stock 5/8" arbor that comes with the SS work for it or do I need another type?

I an not sure what the other guys think but I have been using the stock arbor with a Dado blade I had from my grandfathers old table saw that is a sear brand for years and not trouble. In fact I have the SS dado stack set and it is the 5/8 arbor also.

I hope that you mean you are using the SS dado arbor(which only comes in 5/8").

Cocacola, any dado set (with a 5/8' hole) should work with the SS dado arbor. If you go too big, you may have to create your own table insert. I make my own anyway.

I enjoy hearing how nice Christmas was for others. We had a very relaxing day. No company, played with a new netbook and enjoyed a simple meal. Now the day after was hard work. We visited a Toyota dealer and left behind my beloved seven year old Sequoia. It's replacement a Highlander. Its new and shiny and far easier to herd down the road. The best part being I won't aggravate my always sore feet each time I slide off the seat and hit the pavement. Yeah I'm a shorty. This new buggy is truly a better fit for me. My bride always refused to drive the Sequoia and can't wait to get behind the wheel of this one. Whoops I thought this was to be my car

In regards to your post #23 about old/good woodworking books, I purchase mine either at half.com or amazon.com and rarely buy a new book but have gotten many used or almost new for really great prices at either of these sites. I have many of Nick Engler books which I have found at these sites.

I kow the molder/dado arbor is for stacked dado. I was refering to a wobble dado blade.

The link you provided is for a 1 1/4" blade arbor.

The ss 5/8" arbors are for single element bades(the threads are not long enough for either the wobble washers or stacked blades.

The molder/dado arbor is the only current one available.
