A 10ER added to the shop...

Post by henecle »

Just purchased my first 10ER today, SN 31154. Family passed down and never outdoors. Condition is almost like new :D , just needs a good cleaning and service. Came with almost all accessories sold in the catalog. Started right up and changed speeds with no problems at all. Can't wait for warmer weather to get started with the cleaning. Can anyone help narrow down the manufacture year, I'm thinking 48 or 49.

I am sure it will make a good addition to your shop. I have three set up and one more I am making into a Drill press only. They work great and makes it easy to use them along with my MKV 510 and MKV brownie.
They make a great lathe with that speed changer in place. Very heavy and stable for larger turnings.

Hi,
I just checked the database on the Yahoo 10ER forum and it looks like your machine was made in 1950. It's about midrange in the serial numbers for that year. It sure looks good for being 60 years old. If you think about it how many things do we use in daily life that are that old, not many for sure. ;)
