shopsmith dado set

i aquired a new shopsmith dado blade,, it was so out of tune it was usless,,,i contacted a saw sharpening guy and he said 45 dollars to get in tune cutting a 3/4 slot the center was 1/16 higher,,,,not a recommended tool,,,, lol and the wobble blades are brutal,, why would anyone buy one of those indianabob makere of fine sawdust

I had a chance to use my Magna Dado today. I was excited to see it in a box of parts that I got some time ago. What I didn't know was that because it basically makes your blade wobble, the dados are not square at the bottom. They actually have the same diameter as your saw blade and then require squaring up with a chisel, router, or a couple or more saw cuts. What good is a rounded bottom dado groove?

We've discussed wobble dado blades before and the problems with them. I have an "Oldham" wobble dado blade I bought from a local hardware store and it is terrible. The bottom of the cut is not flat, but it's not rounded. It's stepped ridges with each step getting deeper toward the center. But I also have a Craftsman wobble dado that I got with my Mark V. I have no complaints with the cut at all. Flat, square, smooth cut. The only complaint is it's a PITA to adjust.
