10ER & Mark V compatabilities

Does anyone know if the two are compatable. Can I swap headstocks? Can I use way tube mounted accessories on each model? Are the way tubes the same distance apart & sizes between the models? I'd appreciate any answers. Thx.

Sorry the two head stock will not change. The tubes are wider on the MKV. You can run the band saw and some others on the ER but it takes several adopters available but hard to find. There is one person on Line that makes an adaptor and pulley to use them. I have several ER's and two MKV's and love them all.

What really stinks.....?
I work at a place that has hundreds of egghead engineers with highend workstations & CAD software. We have any type of milling/machining equipment you could imagine. We have welding equipment and lab techs who check weld joints with electron microscopes for weld inspection/stress analysis. And unlimited material resources. I could tell the engineers what Shopsmith I have and what accessory I'd like adapted to my 10ER. They could create any adapter/bracket/mod. Only one problem.......
It's a government agency that supports the DoD(Navy nuke subs). I can't ask them to use government resources for personal use. Darn!

I too worked for a company that serviced a government defense contract (to the Air Force). One day at work I had a flat tire and could not get the wheel cover off with the tools I had in the truck. I went in the shop and got a large pry bar off the tool rack. I got the wheel cover off -but- I also got in trouble (with both the union steward and with the contract manager) for improper use of tools dedicated to the military contract.

yeah there are times when you can get in trouble , but in the case where i have done some stuff, we are the contract Givers
The metal shop out at the aresnal is so large to get from one end of the shop you need a bike
my father still has his tools, fridge and among other things still in the shop, even though he wears a 3 peice suit every day now.
there are jigs that he made when he was an apprentice in 1979 the yr i was born, that are still used today, all most all the current jigs that are used were made by my father

Yes, that is what I'd like to avoid. I don't want someone saying I used government resourses for personal use. It's like being this " close to the best can of beer in the world and not being allowed to take a sip.
