shopsmith biscuits
anyone use the biscuit attachment? any good? i see a few on ebay and wonder if it will fit on a 10er,,,methinks i could use somthing like that,,,with a jig ,, putting the wood to the machine,, viv a vis, the machine to the wood,, indianabob grower of fine weeds and a few hostas
Have one and it works well, I use it on my 510.
Seen posts that discuss some level of modification required to use it on a 10ER, you might try a search. Have not attempted to use it on my 10ER.

I have both the Shopsmith biscuit cutter and a hand held unit. The hand held biscuit cutter is good for making cuts in "awkward" places, but the Shopsmith cutter is more precise. In many ways this gets back to the age old quandry; is it better to take the tool to the work,....... or is it better to take the work to the tool.

I have it and stopped using it when my hand hit the blade. I now realize that I needed to make sure the piece was supported on two sided otherwise the blade can shoot the wood to the side leaving you pushing had heading into the blade. No permanent damage and I plan on trying again.

I purchased one years ago. I don't use it all the time but does work well. I like it for table tops and such.
Interesting note- When I purchased one I was told that Total Shop made an exact copy of the unit and Shopsmith won a lawsuit against them. Total shop had to hand over all their remaining inventory. Shopsmith re-badged them and sold them off cheap. I think I paid $65. One the one I got the little silver label that has the model number etc.. has the "Dayton Ohio" blocked out with another sticker. Wondering how many here has one like that?

I do quite a bit of biscuit work. I initially used the Shopsmith tool but found that it just took too long for the set up. I purchased a Porter Cable hand held unit a year or two ago and have never regretted it. I think it is way more versatile. I don't ever like to speak poorly of the Shopsmith tools but I do think there a couple of them that just don't stack up. The biscuit cutter and the tenon jig are two examples. In both cases I've sold mine to use those purchased fom other manufacturers.
