Incra miter gauge questions.

Post by mbcabinetmaker »

I have seen all the post about the Incra miter gauge. I want to get one the next time they are on sale. Is the safety grip the same as on the standard SS miter gauge? I see they offer everything separately on the web sight. I am confused about the grip and the adapter kit. When I buy one I would like it to be complete and ready to use with the safety grip. Any advice?

Mark,

I am in process of assembling a down draft table for sanding. I took the chickens way out and purchased the tops from Rockler and downloaded their plans. This week I finally took time to lay out the various parts on a 4 foot and 4 foot sheet of 1/2" Oak plywood. After three preliminary rip cuts I had things down to some smaller rip cuts and several cross cuts to bring all pieces into the proper size/shapes. The Incra/Shopsmith unit made short work of the job and is highly accurate. I suggest buying it complete with grip. I will order a second one soon for my second 520. Jim

mine came complete (I ordered both the Incra with adapter and the safety handle) but not ready to use. some assembly required. certainly no worse than doing a table alignment, though.
