Maxi-Clamp parts list needed

Post by jayhawk »

Does anyone have a list of how many of each item the Maxi-Clamp comes with? I bought one with all the parts loose in a box. It included a user guide but even that didn't have a parts list. I separated out all of the different pieces and I think I may have 2 sets combined. There are 8 each of most pieces and 4 each of the longest threaded rod. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here is a picture of my clamp system which I purchased new. It may have an extra or be missing a part or two but this is the general kit.

Ed, yours looks as unused as mine does. :)
Mine still has the cut-out cardboard panel in the box where each piece fits in the holes. I believe yours has the same items and count as mine.

Thanks guys! That confirms that I do have two sets. My set looks as pristene as yours! LOL After reading a few posts, many of these see very little use. That's probably why mine was for sale.

Yeah but like many accessories they are nice to wish for... :)
After all of the stuff I have bought over the years to make woodworking easier my projects should just make themselves. :D

If you get a chance, you might want to look up the maxi clamp storage posted on Hands On. I built it, and I have found that if the maxi clamp is easily accessible, I am more apt to use it.

The Maxi-Clamp Caddy is in the Jan/Feb 1985 issue, I have not found this online.

My only questions are; has anyone ever successfully used this clamp system? How well did it function? Jim

I actually own the issue, since I am not sure I can post the article I am posting a SketchUp of the project. What is not clear is how deep the various dowel holes are. The article says the dowels are 6" and 2", to be safe I am going to extend the dowels by 1/2" and drill 1/2" holes.

Thanks for all the replies especially the storage rack plans. Here's a bit of info for those of you who aren't using your Maxi-Clamp much. I put one of the sets on ebay and it went to $51 the first day. I thought I would be lucky if it sold at all.
