EZ Hose Clamp

Post by reible »

A review of a hose clamp????

In a word "yes".

Some years back I modified my non-shopsmith band saw with a second dust port just under the table near where the cutting is done. At the time the plan was to put a "Y" adapter to the original port and the dust collector. After doing so I discovered the removal of the cover for blade changes and cleaning wasn't working out very well (mildly put).

Take two was to get a hose to hard fitting adapter so I could take the hose on and off by just sliding them apart. This stuck the whole assembly out to far and it was easy to knock off... but mostly it was how far it stuck out.

Take three back to the hose clamp and when the cover needed to come off I got out the screw driver and loosened the hose and took it off. I know that is not that big a deal but still I'd often find myself thinking there must be a better way.

A short while back I was finishing up an order to Peachtree Woodworking Supply and found I had just gone over one postage boundary and had the space for a few toys before I got to the next postage bump. I found the EZ hose clamps and knew just where one of these would go in my shop. Yea you got that right, on the band saw hose.

Cost, 2-1/2"(493) $1.79, 4"(494) $2.49.

The review: It clamps what I want clamped and does it well and at a good price. I'll give it a big thumbs up.

Thank you for the posting and new site. The clamp seems like it would come in handy in RV situations also....besides, did you notice that they have 12" sanding discs in 220. Haven't had time to search other toys but thanks again for keeping us informed.
