SS Speed Adjuster assembly for a Woodmaster?

I inherited a Woodmaster multi-tool from my wife's grandfather. The forks on the speed adjuster have been broken completely off. Does anyone know if a Shopmith Mark V speed adjuster assembly will work on a Woodmaster? They look very similar from the pictures I have seen. I have attached a photo of my broken adjuster assembly for reference.

If you post your location there may be a member close to you with a spare that you can try. You may want to contact Bill Mayo on this forum as he a lot more knowledge on this kind of stuff than anyone I know.

It took it to a couple of local welders and they said they could braze it but it would not be very durable.

And in response to Bill V, I am in the Greenville South Carolina area.

I am considering just buying an assembly off of Ebay and trying it out. If it is not a match I can probably resell it and recoup most of my money anyway. (and they are relatively inexpensive parts) I have also sent a message top Bill Mayo so hopefully he can shed some light on the subject as well.

I have found the broken legs to be a problem on these clone machines. I have been tacking additional side pieces on each side of the legs for more strenght. It takes an excellant welder person to actually weld these legs as this aluminum alloy acts like pot metal when trying to weld it using regular welding equipment.

It takes the complete Shopsmith Speed Control Assembly to swap out the clone one. I find that I have to modify the Shopsmith Speed Control bracket to accept the clone speed dial as there are no anti-vibration springs on the clones. I also have to change the retaining loop on the control sheave to a Shopsmith one.

I will respond to your Email once I know how much the welding cost me. It was billed to me.

I have one of those. The pork chop stripped on mine. I ended up replacing the whole speed change assembly with SS parts. Although the parts may look the same there are significant differences with the wood master parts being generally larger than the SS parts.
