I'm back!
A lot of great info and I am dying of laughter with a couple of these posts!
Hey Gary! I would have painted it like a S.W.A.T. truck if I thought it would have helped:D and Mike- My sides hurt from laughing so hard! You are not very far off though, the only thing you left out was to monitor weigh station (as your heart beats out of your chest) in the rear view as you contemplate possible scenarios to evade the patrol cruiser with your 9 ton box on wheels:D
Went through 8 or so stations and I actually never saw a real person. The stations do rolling weight, so you just drive @ 3mph and hope the light stays green. There is a row of mirrored windows and I was more concentrating on not crashing into a pole or or something stupid like that.
All in all not a bad trip, 13 hours up, 3 hour unload, 4 hours waiting for a mobile mechanic to come fix the truck. (it completly died/shutdown twice on mountain passes) 3 hours sleep and 13 hours back.
