I guess someone wants it really bad and doesn't want to wait for a back order. Wow, no one bids on my stuff that way. Guess right place and right time. Have what the customer wants.

Every Shopsmith item I have ever sold (about 10) went for more than Shopsmith sold it for. Sometime shipping was the reason, sometimes it was backorder, and sometimes I had no idea why.

Many times I have tried to buy Shopsmith stuff on eBay and I have yet to be successful. Inluding shipping the cost was always too high for items in new or excellent condition.

The main reason I try is because Shopsmith charges too much for shipping on small orders.

I didn't pay that for my Porter Cable new. No offence to SS but a handheld model is a lot more versatile.

FWIW I once sold a tripod for a telescope on e-bay. The person that bought it bid about 1.5 times the new price. He kept it for a month and then wanted to return it claiming it was "all rusted out". It wasn't... It was used as stated but in good shape. I gave him a full refund less my actual shipping cost and this still resulted in my getting my only negative feedback. I've always figured that he realized he over paid and just wanted his money back. He got his way but I am always thinking of that when I'm on e-bay....

If it was as you describe, I would not have given him his money back. The auction set the price he paid (not you) and he waited far too long (in my opinion). If it was rusted, he would have seen it immediately and if he didn't like what he saw he should have contacted you IMMEDIATELY.

I agree with Dusty! I would have let e-bay resolve it with the buyer! Perhaps(maybe) that negative feedback would have been disallowed!

I had the reverse happen to me. The description sounded like pristine condition. The parts were garbage. I emailed the seller b4 feeding back, he offered to return $ including shipping BOTH ways. I feel he knew he was 'caught'. I did not negative him, but I did neutral(felt like neutering) him. I saw the same stuff(mix changed slightly) later on. I wonder what the second buyer did. I have not seen the seller since(name change?). He was an Indian Trader for sure!

I sure hope whoever wins/won the biscuit joiner is planning to mount it on a Mark V. It can be mounted on a 10E/ER but the arbor needs to be replaced. Zeev Perry over on the Yahoo 10erusers group makes an arbor to adapt the biscuit joiner to the 10E/ER. Don't think the seller was aware of this.
