mounting a drill sharpener to the SS

I looked at tom_k/mo's idea but the device has to be about 2.25" from the grindstone and the miter slot puts it a little too far from the stone. I decided to make a dedicated base to mount it on. The base is 3.5" high, 3.75" wide and 14" long. I added a magnifier light as well. The sharpener base is just under 5" below the spindle centerline and the device puts the drill point about 6" up so the drill point is about 1" above spindle centerline, which seems to work just fine. I will describe using this same base to support a grinder tool rest in another thread (trying to avoid muddying this one up too much, oops, too late ). I will call it "mounting a 7" grindstone on a SS". Please see attached photos.
