Had a bit of time to kill the other evening. Picked up my SS Self Study Coarse, which I haven't looked at for some time.
Lesson 1 Assignment 1 tells me to read and understand the Mark V Owners Manual. "In addition study carefully in your textbook pages 15 through 20. At this time you should try to learn the proper nomenclature of as many as possible of the parts of your Mark V."
There are several places that the "textbook" is mentioned.
My question is what textbook are they telling me to go to? I don't recall receiving any textbook when I purchased my Mark V. I do have the PTWFE manual, but the page numbers don't match up the same.
Can someone tell me what I am overlooking or missing, please?

I keep finding little windows on this forum, that I don't really know what they do. So sometimes I experiment. Probably shouldn't do that, I know in my shop it can get me into trouble.

In looking at two Self Study Courses that came with different vintage Shopsmiths, both have a cross reference page at the front. This is to 'update' the self study course to the "Revised" PTWFE and the 4th Edition PTWFE. If I get a chance I will scan the later version which has cross references to both editions of PTWFE.

Rob, thanks for the info, and thanks for the scan. I will probably have egg on my face if I look in mine and find this same information. Would rather have egg on my face than scratching my head trying to figure what "TEXTBOOK" they are talking about.
