Sometimes I'm a bit slow. I couldn't figure out why the bandsaw retrofit dust collector was an elbow, while the built-in-the-cover version seems to be just a port.

I'm guessing that it is to keep busy fingers out of the moving parts. I noticed the newer cover has a screen. I just wasn't all that keen on having the elbow adding bulk to my bandsaw when it is stored.

Maybe I'll get some large-weave screen and just use a ferrule

Somebody who will remain nameless (but it starts with a P and ends with an L) just "won" a still-in box 520 upgrade on a popular internet auction site! :D

Emailed with a guy about both the strip and belt sander this morn, but the belt sander is on a power stand so he wants $500 for the set. I think I'll pass as I'm not sure I have the room for a power-stand mounted sander. Still thinking about it though....

Yeah, I've decided to pass on this one. I'm really not interested in the stand, and only have a minor interest in the strip sander.
