Been a while since I posted a score, but these are way cool. The red Roller Derby was one of the first skateboards ever made. It has steel wheels while the other two have clay wheels. The Hobie Super Surfer in the middle is nine pieces of wood glued together.

I had both the Roller Derby and the Hobie when I was a kid. As I recall the Roller Derby was a good way to learn to fall,the steel wheels jammed constantly. The Hobies were what the kids on TV had,beautiful and expensive. On of those things as a kid you wanted but knew was unobtainable.Then on my 9th birthday I got one.I can still remember the surprise and shock. There was no way my Dad could or would spend that much, yet there it was. It was laminated oak ,mahogany and teak. That Hobie was at my side all summer, until it was stolen out of a locked garage. I really thank you for posting the pictures,brought back some nice memories.

I decided that instead of letting my kids get hurt on those old boards, I would take the old boards to the local skate shop and see if I could get them to work out a trade. Half an hour later we walked out with this beauty. It is a laminated bamboo longboard. It is only about a quarter inch thick and is made to flex and carve the turns. Skateboards have come a long way! If it wasnt for the trade, my kids would never have a board like this, as retail is about $300+.

Pretty slick looking!!! Are the axles biased off the left / right centerline of the board body or is it the camera view?

I keep several yard sale skateboards in my shops. You wouldn't believe how useful they can be in moving heavy stuff around and how heavy of loads I have moved on them. If the load is big enough to be hard to balance I use a pair of them.

I scored a pro-planer for $100.00

It needs blades, or at least sharpening, It is pretty heavy in the back of my escape and so will sit there until I have some help to unload it.

I test ran it and runs fine as does the feed motor. I haven't got a manual for it so I'll be looking for one of those too.

any suggestions on where to start?
