It took a few months, but it is finished! I reversed the color pattern on the headstock; I prefer it since the silver color of the speed dial, knobs, etc seems to stand out better than the original scheme. I paid $100 for it and have a little under $300 in it after bearings, paint, stripper, sandpaper, belts, etc.
My "old" ShopSmith, which I've had for 25 years and another 1954 model, looks pretty bad when sitting next to it. I guess I'll have one more to restore:)
