Retrofit 1 1/8 HP motor to Greenie?

Post by robedney »

Hi,
Robert here, with the toasted 3/4 HP greenie motor. Is there any problem retrofitting a 1 1/8 HP motor in exchange for the older 3/4 HP model? I can handle modifying mounts, etc. Are the shafts where the pully/spring assembly mounts the same?

I'm trying not to catch the full restoration bug from you all, but probably failing...

Thanks!

It should bolt right in. You should replace the power cord with a grounded version. This would be an opportunity to lengthen the cord if you need the length. The power cord replacement with new strain relief may require you to modify the hole in your pan to accommodate the larger wire and relief.

Ah -- missed that before starting a new thread. Yes, the red helps :)
