500 saw guard retrofit question

I am finally getting around to installing the model 500 saw guard retrofit kit to my Goldie. I have successfully cut the tube boss with a hack saw, but I haven't a clue as to what position I am to hold the mounting block against the tie bar shoulder to mark the screw positions. It is not pictured in my instructions. Can anyone out there offer any pictures to help me along with this critical step? Thanks in advance and God bless - Alec
