Can the Main Table Not Be Rotated 180

Is there a reason why the Main Table (505/510/520) can not be rotated 180° when mounting to the trunnions?

There is a cut out on the edge of the main table that provides clearance for the headstock when the main table is lowered all the way down. If that depth of cut was never required, would this be a problem.

Ed In Tampa: I believe it is you who has expressed frustration over not being able to read the Table Tilt Protractor. The visual obstructions presented by the Main Table do not exist when the Main Table is rotated on the trunnions. When I realized this, I immediately thought of you.

I had my second Mark V is pieces until just recently. Today I noticed that I had rotated the table when I reassembled. Now I'm trying to decide whether or not I need to put it together per the book. I too have difficulty seeing the protractor.

Since the blade slot appears to be centered between the mounting bosses, I believe 'why not!'.

The relief could be created on that side also.

The holes for the shaper fence would move to the right side. Feeding direction(from front/rear) will reverse. P.S. as well as move inside the spindle.:>((.

The extension tables will mount backwards with no alteration.

Not sure the decreased table overhang in the front is good(except for trunion visibility). It requires a closer standing position.

So leave it alone, and give er a road test! --- Share the 'results'!

This is the show stopper!! Without the saw guards I am without the saw.

I'll rotate the table back before someone tries to us it.
