I have the opportunity to buy a Model 505641 bandsaw but wish to use it primarily for metal cutting. Does anyone know the speed range of this saw? Serial number pegs it at 1979!
Recommended input speed is from 700 to 1050 rpm. However, if you have the speed reducer you can slow the input speed down to 70 rpm. It is an 11" wheel so if you want blade speed you can calculate it.
