So, my wife's sister and her husband are visiting form Ontario, and I tell him that my 10ER had just stopped one day last week. I was ripping some old fenceboards and the blade jammed, happens eveny so often but normally clears. The breaker tripped, but the motor wouldn't start again.
I finished the fence job with a hand saw because I needed to build a fence that dayI not fix machinerey. So I put it away and Dave was helping me out today to find out why the thing wouldn't run. We are looking around, and he says 'what's this button for?' (on the front of the motor). Turns out to be another breaker built into the motor. Duh! Thank goodness for inquisitive brothers-in-law:)

As long as we are admitting to our...um...senior moments perhaps(?), on this thread, I will admit to a similar event: A couple of weeks ago, I was building a tree fort (nowhere near any electricity, so I had to haul a generator and an air compressor to the site, via wheelbarrow), when the air compressor quit (I figure it happened when I pulled the trigger on my worm drive Skilsaw at the same time the compressor started). I did knot even think about a reset button until I noticed one such on my dad's compressor (borrowed to complete my project). I had a close look at mine and found that button very well hidden under some plastic housing between the motor and air tanks! My dad's button was in plain site. That was an easy fix!derekdarling wrote:So, my wife's sister and her husband are visiting form Ontario, and I tell him that my 10ER had just stopped one day last week. Gee
One of those 'I thought it was just me' moments. The more that happens, the more I take solace in the fact that we are all pretty much alike. Either that, or the old-timers' is creeping up faster than I'd like!

That's a scary thought. Especially since we are the same age.derekdarling wrote:One of those 'I thought it was just me' moments. The more that happens, the more I take solace in the fact that we are all pretty much alike. Either that, or the old-timers' is creeping up faster than I'd like!
