I plan on putting the sander on the quill side as I can place it on "backwards" from the normal way and still have it run the correct directions.
Cut the mini correctly, but it's a little too tight about 6 inches too tight the power coupler won't fit to make the connection. This is with my band saw in place at the back end.
It came with some off set tubes, but that not enought. The Eccentric Mounting Tubes don't look like they would help enough.

It looks like I could make longer "plates" to off set the tubes more. Has any one else done that? Would it make it terrible unsafe. Since it's only a sander I don't see how any extra stress would hurt the headstock.
Or has anybody "welded" the two metal nuts together (don't know the word)?
One end goes into the SPT and the other on the SS.
