Negative, and that was a power supply / charger, not cord AND it was a laptop. STILL trying to get a functioning replacement for that.

The only ER10 manual I have with a color cover is marked as 'Copyright 1951' in the lower left corner of the front cover, and 'Article Nos. 25 TMG-3470A and 3471A' in the upper right. Mine does not have the speed chart you show in your previous post.

I'm sorry, we had a breakdown in communication here! The chart is not in that user manual, but the "info on the standard pulley configuration RPM's", which you said you couldn't find, is in the manual.

I thought about this earlier this morning and wondered if perhaps you had installed the pulleys incorrectly. Without the speed changer, the headstock pulley should be mounted so that the large diameter is against the headstock. The motor pulley should be so that the small diameter is against the motor. With the speed changer, the motor pulley should be reversed - so that both pulleys have the large diameter inline with each other against the headstock/motor.

I went back to your ER Restoration thread to look at your pictures and, although I couldn't see the headstock pulley through the guard, I could see that the motor pulley is correct. I could also see that, as you received your ER, the motor pulley was incorrect. I dug a little more through the thread and found your posts regarding restoring the speed changer and, based on that (and knowing how precise you are!), I'm pretty sure you have everything correctly installed. But, I still thought I should mention it just to be sure.

OK Heath, we're on the same page now on the ER speed with and without speed changer. Page 8 of my 1951 ER manual shows your excerpt.

Thanks for the double check on my pulley orientations and yes, I made sure to install them as specified on the speed changer installation instruction.

Notice how the 0 thru 8 range takes up almost the entire distance between the mounting screws as compare to 0 thru 5 range.

Is there something mechanically different about speed changers????

Thanks Heath!! It appears the '8' was planned all along(?). It also appears the '8' has a wider range(shorter lever arm on the pulley 'pivot')(??).

Anybody know if the actual speed range is the same?(probably unless the speed control pulleys are a different size). i.e. 0=0 5=8

0...1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8
