JPG, you started his as an anything goes post, within reason.....Here is something I will soon need information on.

Building a custom P/U which will have a wood, Red Oak, floor. This truck will be a driver, but not driven in inclement weather. But we all know that the rain will come down. Will soon, I hope be at the stage where it is ready to put the wood in. My question is what type of finish will be best. Will not be hauling anything in this truck, just has to look killer, and be durable.

Any one have suggestions for me? My computer has been giving me fits since last Friday, so have to get on while at work. Hoping to get my internet provided to repair tomorrow. If you have ideas I would appreciate them.

Treat it like a deck with Thomson's Waterseal???

Whatever you use it has to be sealed all four sides or bad things will happen. If it were me, I'd probably use Sikkens Cetol Dek. It's a pretty, durable and easy to maintain finish. I have Cetol on my shop doors and they look as good now as five years ago when I built them. I've used it on boats for years. The great thing about it is it wears from the outside. You add a coat when it starts looking worn but you don't have to sand off what's already there.
Be aware that Red Oak, unlike White Oak has virtually no resistance to rot and because it is very open grained, it will absorb moisture and expand / warp etc. if it can.

Finished the decks! Roof's on the main deck, lights and outlets are wired. Next step is the T-11 ceiling.
Used Sikkens' Cetol on the deck. Did both sides and edges of the redwood 2X6s. As Paul said, it's great stuff. Used a different product by Sikkens on a log cabin 5 years ago. Looks like it did when we first applied it.

Received our new tow behind DR mower/brush cutter yesterday. Need to go into town and get some oil and a new hitch. The mower requires a clevis and I don't want to keep changing from ball to clevis. Wife said to get a "Eunuch" hitch. No balls.

Most email list/groups are also pretty quiet. It is kind of typical this time of year. When it gets good and nasty outside it will pickup.
As for myself I am up to my neck in horses and related farm activities.

He is a great horse. All 5 of ours are, unfortunately I have had very little time to spend with any of them beyond caring for them. It has kept me busy trying to keep grass under everybody during this silly drought. I was hoping to ride him today but it is very windy right now (about 5 AM) and is "supposed" to rain (finally) and maybe storm all day. Maybe I'll get to him tomorrow... We are getting into much cooler fall temperatures here now and while it is beautiful everybody here is having to be a little extra careful since the much cooler temps bring out "a lot" of extra energy. Horses that plodded all summer are now dancing around and wanting to run. It sure makes them beautiful to watch though.
We now have 11 client horses and I am hearing that I may have 4 more coming soon. That is about all I can make room for until spring. I took back 23 acres of land from the fellow that has been renting my grain fields to plant in horses. I hated to take it from him but I make roughly 6 times as much in horses as I do cash renting it for grain crops. It is all corn stubble and will have to be disked and seeded to pasture grasses. Even with several varieties of fast growing coarse grasses in the mix it will be spring before I can put anybody on it. A little of it at the north end of the farm will be a hay lot which will also give my neighbor there a buffer between him and the horseback riders. He and his wife have a lot of pool parties and that will give them a little more privacy from my riders who currently ride fairly closely past his house. I try to be a good neighbor. Some of the added horse land will be added riding lanes as well as more horse lots. Some of the new lots will not be full time but held back for rotational use.
Meanwhile I have the materials stacked on location for a second round pen to put up. The first is 42', the second will be 62'. I am also in the early stages of building a sort of a playground near the round pens to keep some of the smaller kids from getting too bored.
Yesterday we emptied and removed a section of low old hayloft to make room for some more horse stalls in that barn.
It is a good thing I am "retired"...

OK, I just flipped on the boob-tube and find that over half of the state is under a tornado watch and much of it has a high wind warning. The weather guy just casually said "probably several tornadoes, some likely very strong and strong thunderstorms some of which may be quite severe". He didn't have to say that...
