Pro Planer In and Out Feed Roller Replacement

Post by keepatightline »

I must replace the outfeed roller on my model 514300 pro planer but I don't see how to remove it without removing the back side plate. Does anyone know the "trick" needed to avoid complete disassembly? Thanks in advance.

The replacement rollers come with instructions. Did you lose them?

To be clear, are you trying to avoid removing the planer from the stand or ?? Hopefully, you have the instructions that Shopsmith includes with the replacement rollers. If not, email me.

First, thank you for responding. Facts are I was just trying to find out how to "lift out" the roller. I tried getting it out through the trapazoid shapes but was repeatedly unsuccessful. HOWEVER, this morning I walked out with a cup of coffee in one hand, barely awake, and got lucky. It lifted right out through that opening. I think I'm set for now. Again, thanks for responding.
