Jointer rebuild question?

I have a jointer that I have completely rebuilt and am "done" with, except for one thing. I have a new scale that I want to put on but I'm not sure how to put the new one on. To get the old scale off I assume I just cut the heads off of the rivet thingies, and drill out the hole until clean, but what do I use to install the new scale? All help is of course appreciated.

I am able to grip the head of the rivit (Type U Drive Screw) with a end cutter pliers and twist CCW. I have used a file and squared up 2 sides of the rivit so I can grip the rivit head and twist. If you are not saving the old scale, a small flat blade screwdriver under the scale wil start the rivits. The rivits will quickly pop out as the thread is quite course. Contact me with your address and what equipment/item you need them for. I will be happy to mail you a few of the riviets used for the joiner. A small hammer will work to drive the new rivits into the holes.

Thanks for the info on the jointer rivets. I won't drill them out, I'll pop them out with some side cutters to avoid enlarging the holes. I PM'd you too, Thanks
