When you walk past a pile of firewood, go back take a second look and take a piece out for a future as yet undetermined project.

You know you are a wood worker when...

You cringe when you read a Craigslist ad for 'Free Firewood, Apple/Cherry/Acacia/anything useful... already bucked into 12" lengths and split'.
Now if they would only advertise a day or so BEFORE the thing is sliced into toothpicks, we could get some nice local wood.

You know that you are a woodworker if you have to cut or buy firewood for your wood stove in your shop because you can't bear to burn any of your precious scraps in the bin... :)
