Awhile back I described a homemade chisel sharpener in this post:https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?t=5837
It evolved into this version, shown mounted on a Sears sander (an experiment, written up for Home Shop Machinist magazine and to be published in 2011 I hope) I actually prefer it on the Shopsmith SS :

I found that trying to sharpen long kitchen knives using the knife holder (shown by Nick in video tips - http://www.shopsmithacademy.com/Tips_Ar ... Knives.htm) was not working well because the holder was hitting my chisel sharpener when swung fully sideways to the length of the knife blade. This may not occur with the factory version. Anyway, to fix my problem I made this support:

I did not bother to couple up to power for these staged photos.

It uses the socket off the chisel sharpener and mounts using the belt cover knob.

Here are some dimensions, in case the factory version has the same problem.

The slot for the belt cover knob is about 0.4" deep. By the way, it works great!
