Thanks - the CA method looks pretty easy and durable. I'll have to try it for my Christmas gift list items.

Just a word of caution: Many of the youtube videos (or written postings) don't emphasize wearing gloves. The CA may cure very quickly; when it does, it gets very hot. Wear a nitrile glove on the hand that's applying the finish on your turning, unless you want the famous "American Pie CA finish." But that said, it does make for a very nice shiny durable finish. (Personally, I find that it takes more time to apply the CA finish properly than it does to actually turn the pen).
