makes sense to me. between the mark 7 and the powerpro they have an interesting competitor. Their prices for the basic assembly seem pretty high (as do the accessories), so it will be interesting to see if this happpens and how people respond.

Its interesting because Boise and the surrounding areas are largely rural, and therefore you often have the space and opportunity to have various larger seperate tools. The main selling point then becomes the fact that the highly controllable motor and sharing of setup across multiple operations perhaps.
Mark 7, Pro Planer, Jointer, Bandsaw w/Kreg, Biscuit Joiner, Belt Sander, Jig Saw, Ringmaster, DC3300, Overarm Pin Router, Incra Ultimate setup

JWBS-14 w/6" riser, RBI Hawk 226 Ultra, Bosch GSM12SD Axial Glide Dual Compound Miter Saw

-- I have parts/SPTs available, so if you are in the Seattle area and need something let me know --

Being a skeptic I wonder if the ad is legit and would check directly with HQ.
Regional Director? Ad posted 12/10 with phone calls beginning 11/22. What big box home improvement center is headquartered in Boise? Not Lowes or HD. Is their really a Shopsmith Home Improvement Center Division? Is it new? Maybe that is the group that sets up demo's in malls or something.
Mixed feelings is watching your mother in law driving off a cliff in your new Rolls Royce. :) :(

Something doesn't make sense here. Like the Upper Peninsula, Idaho has a population density of only 16 people per sq. mile. There is no way that a factory representative could justify his existance in such a sparcely populated area.

Looking at the logo

I do not see the registered trademark symbol on the SS logo in the ad. Shopsmith has a reputation to protect its TM, so it looks suspicious to me.

I noted that it was posted by an "unregistered user"... Shopsmith Inc. had an Ebay ID and was using it a while back when they were cleaning out a lot of old stock. I bought several items from them then which were shipped from the factory in Dayton. Ebay doesn't normally cancel your ID just for being inactive for some time.
I would really sneak up on that one carefully...

From the ad:

Phone Interviews will begin 11/22
If you meet and/or exceed the minimum requirements resumes can be sent to the posted e-mail address
or you can phone Regional Director @ 208 761-8288 and leave name, phone number, brief description of qualifications
Searching Google for that phone number gets a hit on the following page with the same number near the bottom, after all the photographs:

http://myhomeworkshop.com/bronconation.html

The "about us" link http://myhomeworkshop.com/aboutus.html indicates that the site is for a tool business with at least one partner (owner, whatever) with a 25 year history of demonstrating Shopsmith tools. Doesn't look like this is Shopsmith itself looking to hire but perhaps a reseller is looking to handle SS stuff.
