Just saw part of on info-mercial on the Rockwell Bladerunner. Is it just my skeptical nature, or is this more than just a souped up jigsaw mounted under a table? Not that I'm casting aspersions on Rockwell, and the darn thing does look pretty well made and thought out, with lots of neat accessories. Just a bit expensive for my tastes/budget/needs.

Hermit of the Hills Woodworks, a hillbilly in the foothills of the Ozarks, scraping by.

Ya know, I've been clamping my jigsaw upside down in my old workmate table for years. The only thing I see this rockwell tool having over what I do for free is a guide on top for the free end of the blade.

Whoopee, I'm underwhelmed by this amazing "new" tool.

I did not equip with Shopsmiths in spite of the setups but because of them.

A scroll saw with a wider blade. Usually, with new tools, I can envision a use. Not with this one, though.

This is exactly the type of info mercial Shopsmith needs. Lots of hype lots of flash, and lots of idea plants. Then they need to make $3500+ sound like 4 easy payments of $39.99 :eek:

New? So new in fact that Magna/ Shopsmith invented the same type tool back in the 50's. The Shopsmith Jigsaw.

I'll go you one better. The ER jigsaw, has a removable upper section, which makes almost identical to this. It will hold jigsaw blades, upside down, sticking up through a hole in the table. Granted, you won't have the upper clamp or the blower there. But, you can always re-install those pieces.

The SS jigsaw has the same function to make it a sabre saw too. I've never used it with that configuration, but I can if I ever need.

Good point, just what is Shopsmith doing now to market thier products? Seems like when ever I mention Shopsmith to people lately they never heard of them. They should do a infomercial.

I don't know just what they are doing but I can give you names of twenty two (22) persons with PowerPros or Mark 7s.

Something is working.

I have heard the number 200+ being the number of PowerPro Headstocks that have been completed. I can not confirm that number but I believe it.
