The BowlSaw "TM"

Post by joedw00 »

I came across this http://www.woodcentral.com/mbads/steussybowlsaw.pdf on http://lumberjocks.com/jocks/Steuss/blog/6665 It sure looks dangerous:confused: This one http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx ... 49232&ap=1
is a little pricey, but looks a little safer, don't know if it would work on SM. It doesn't look like it.

I've looked at those bowl core systems and never could spend the money. That first one I think I can make. Yes it could catch and give you trouble but that's part of the "lathe game" LOL It's ALL dangerous if used wrong or put in a bind.

I was curious about these as well and using them with a shopsmith. Looks like you can get the McNaughton setup with a toolpost in a 3/4" shank, so that should fit the shopsmith tool rests. Would definitely be curious if people are using this with their shopsmith.
