Yes, but I think he needs one 'on site'!;)
I can remember far beyond that era! It is 5 minutes ago I seem to now have difficulty recalling!

I took the pictures you asked for. My camera decided to die when I plugged it in. Now my computer won't recognize the memory card when I plug it in. luckily I'm building a home server PC and it should be back from assembly this week. All I did was carve out the back of a drawer in an Ikea Entertainment Center for chassis exposure and ventilation holes. Jigsaws are not kind to particleboard.
OK, been a hectic week, but here are some Pics that I think will show everything you are looking for. PS while rummaging around the box of parts I found one of the knobs I need. Table Height adjust is still missing but I have the Height Lock knob.

Re the 'greenie' parts - That tube 'thingey' is a rip fence. You need that if you do not have another! Cannot tell for sure, but it may be missing the rear clamp. Orrrrr was the tube end thingey the 'tiebar'?
The miter gauge bar is definitely bent - need to replace.
The table height lock requires another knob and hub(just like the one on the quill) to work properly.
Not sure what the pix of the speed control knob is for.
The slow down under load is probably the poly-v belt slipping, or the floating sheave sticking.
Lets go forward one problem at a time!

Thanks for the quick reply. I knew the rip fence, I don't know the name of the thing the tubes go to. How hard is it to diagnose the Poly V or the floating sheave? The speed control knob binds. I tried to get a pic of the part where it is actually in contact with the housing but failed.

Been waaay too busy lately, but I'm considering selling the MKV we've been discussing for I've acquired a MkV with all of its handles and knobs and the Joiner, Belt Sander, Router shield, some sort of fence and the jigsaw for a great price. Problem is that surface corrosion is a problem again. I still need to get that thing that goes between the headstock and the attachments for power......
