Rust Removal

Post by allmond2002 »

Hey everyone, just found this rust removal product that may be a god-send. Check this out!

http://www.wash-safe.com/rust-off-2

I don't have alot of rust on my shopsmith, but my cast bandsaw table has a light rust. I might have to give this stuff a quick 5 minute try!

Has anyone tried "Rust Off" before?

I haven't tried this, but I'm a huge fan of Evapo-Rust and electrolysis.

Look at the msds, it's just a weak oxalyc acid wash. Save yourself some money and buy it at the hardware store in a more concentrated form. Even faster, use muratic acid.

I'm amused by the title of the 2nd video on that page: "Removing rust from aluminum wheel covers" .... rusty aluminum, huh? :)

I really like how it not only removed the "rust" from the aluminum but it looked like a brand new wheel, no pitting or anything.
