What's in the box?
This is a box of scraps that I am putting together for an anonymous member for the cost of shipping. I decided to post it here to show what is going in and to see if anyone else may be interested. I have a guy that picks up my scraps every few weeks and burns them. I hate to see so much good workable wood go up in smoke but I just don't have the space to store a lot of shorts. The dimension of the box are 14 x 22.5. I plan to fill it as full as possible and take it to the UPS station to see how much the shipping will be.

First layer is a nice wide piece of 1 inch thick Honduran mahogany and some 1 inch thick alder.

Second layer is some very nice 13/16 inch thick cherry.
We will see what tomorrow brings.

Hey, if you've got usable scrap wood, i'de love to help you, as there are few sawmills in my area and lowes is too darned expensive, so far i've been living off scrap wood, lol. I just don't know how i'de pay you.
Like Dalton I would be interested to see what it costs to ship that big of a box, but always interested in "Scrap Wood":D

I'd love whatever scrap pieces you could send me for the cost of shipping too. There just isn't any source of hardwood around here. The nearest hardwood lumber dealer that I've been able to find is about 200 miles away and they deal exclusively with local woods (so basically oaks - no cherry, mahogany, maple, walnut, etc). Small pieces like you have are typically perfect for the kind of projects I do. You sent me a large flat rate priority mail box of African Mahogany about a year ago and after working with Lowes pine, I absolutely loved working with that.

drool,
drool, drool, drool ........ well, you get the picture.
I'm thinking for the cost of shipping, and even adding in a couple of bucks for your time (which is always worth something), that enough of us out here want your "scraps" bad enough to never have to throw out anything again. For sure, put me on the list too!!!
And don't forget the USPS and their motto, "if it fits, it ships." They will also pick up just like big brown.
