Looks like a good find, Like the 520 I walked into retool and found with a complete sawtrain and tons of goodies. I am glad the guy thought SS were not worth handing much and he also was very good on the price. So far everytime he gets a SS part in he calls me and when someone wants to sell a complete one he gives them my number. Been good for some $50 Er's

I recently joined because a friend "gifted" me a SS just like yours. I am trading BillMayo for a complete table with trunions, but that's all it needs. I am so anxious, but money is so tight, I can't send it till a guy pays me for a resto job! Again, congrats! jimsjinx

Got every thing back together lubed and waxed. The casters however had to be as Farmer put it Built on a Friday after a liquid lunch.

I re-aligned all the cams and the foot levers but when I got the machine back together I discovered that the flat areas for the set screws and the holes for the split pins to hold the foot levers were not jiving. Something was off several degrees.

My solution was to drill new holes for the foot levers.

Is it possible the cams were on backwards??? That and the crank backwards or upside down and 180 out is about all that be mis-assembled(assuming the roll pin holes are back mating the original end casting they were removed from!). Oh and the crank on the correct end(later models have holes drilled in both ends).

HEHEHEHE! I was thinking the very same thing as I had a little brain fade when i went to put my VII casters back together. I looked at them and got them all back together only to find that they were backwards. break out the hammer and pin punch again and all was well in the Shopsmith universe.

First time I 'reassembled' one of these I did not get it right the first time. I have learned to 'dry' assemble it(no roll pins)(short nails) and verify all parts orientation re proper operation b4 driving them in!
